Once a lead enzyme candidate has been selected, Disyn Engineers will carefully select the best approach to improve enzyme activity. We do this by leveraging decades of enzyme engineering experience using several methods including smart library design, molecular modeling and docking.
Biocatalyst Development
Our engineers use a number of approaches supported by computational methods to develop new biocatalysts with enhanced properties.
- Rational enzyme design: Using a combination of molecular modeling and docking to carefully select and 'disyn' enzymes.
- Site saturation mutagenesis: Explore the broader sequence space of the target enzyme to identify hotspots. Enzymes can then pass through another round of rational design.
- Directed evolution: using a combination of site specific and random mutagenesis to generate thousands of enzyme mutants. These will be screened using our high throughput analytics platform.
Process development
We have the expertise and the facility to help scale your chemical transformation ready for pilot scale testing. With access to multimax system to screen reaction parameters, we also employ techniques such as design of experiments (DOE) and kinetic modelling to optimise scale-up.
