Meet the Team

Ian Rowles is Managing Director of Disyn Biotec and leads the company's operations. Ian has over 15 years experience in project management and developing biocatalytic solutions for industry, having previously managed the Centre of Excellence in Biocatalysis (CoEBio3).

William Finnigan (Technical Director) explores the use of computer aided design for the development of novel pathways for biotechnology, including bioinformatics, automation, DoE and mathematical modelling. He is passionate about the potential for the integration of systems biology into wet-lab bioengineering.

  Syed Ahmed is the Commercial Director of Disyn Biotec and is responsible for building strategic partnerships with companies and leading all commercial activities of the company.

Nicholas Turner FRS is the chairperson and co-founder of Disyn Biotec and has over 30 years of expertise in the use of enzymes as biocatalysts for organic synthesis and has been at the forefront of work internationally on the directed evolution of enzymes as applied biocatalysts. 

  Sabine Flitsch is the co-founder of Disyn Biotec with >30 years of experience in chemical biology and enzyme development, she has been awarded with numerous prizes for her significant contributions in carbohydrate chemistry and glycobiology.
